The Machine That Changed the World

The computer is the most complex machine man ever created. Who could imagine that one day one machine could do the same tasks our brain does?

The computer is one of the machines that contributed to change the world entirely and build the technology society we live in now. They can be compared with the industrial revolution when machines replaced our muscles. Now the computers are replacing our brains in some tasks such as repetitive math functions and management of complex accounts such as a company finance information. The computer is also the machine the has the fastest improvement of all. For example, just 10 years ago cars didn't change that much, but computers are completely different right now. The processor is more than ten times faster and the hard disk capacity is more than one hundred times bigger. The first computer ever built was named Eniac, with 30 tons of weight it needed almost an entire building just for it. The U.S. Army bought it for 500.000$!

Today, just 50 years later Eniac is completely useless and simple calculator can do the same tasks and cost just a few dollars. When Eniac was built the creators never imagined that computers could improve so fast and that each person could have their very own computer.
