Atari 800 Laptop Mod

Seeing a merge of old technology into new gadgetry always puts a smile on my face. Ben Heck (who's made portables versions of several non-portable systems) put together this very impressive mod.

Seeing a merge of old technology into new gadgetry always puts a smile on my face. Ben Heck (who's made portables versions of several non-portable systems) put together this very impressive mod.

It sports:

  • An 8" screen,
  • a compactFlash disk drive storage for roms,
  • a built-in Ni-MH battery (no word on why he didn't use a Lipo, but maybe he was concerned it would go Dell on him)
  • built-in Player 1 & 2 controls,
  • 2 Joystick ports,
  • and a QWERTY Keyboard.

Can't wait to see this guys next mod.

Ben Heck has great talent! Maybe he'll make a lap top mod for Nintendo! I'm sure he'll make great bucks. People that love to play video games would love to have something to carry around on long trips.
