Windows Vista's Flaws and Alternative Operating Systems

Want to know why Windows Vista is lame then read this.

Windows vista is not one of Microsoft's best operating systems so many people choose not to buy it. Because of this people just stick with trusty Windows xp. In response to this Microsoft is putting and end to Windows xp on June 30,2008. People will no longer be able to purchase Windows xp computers. To make things worse updates will no longer be available to Windows xp users later on. Getting support for Windows xp will be more difficult as well. This is probably not a wise move on Microsoft's part because this will most likely benefit Microsoft's competitors.

The reasons people may not wish to switch from xp to vista are quite obvious from what people have to say. The first reason is quite simple it comes with glitches and errors and nobody likes that. Another good reason not to get vista is the lack of compatibility with hardware and certain applications.

Buying new hardware is something that you didn't have to worry to much with windows xp. It's probably best to just buy a new computer with you prefer vista. It takes up to much space on your hard drive which is not so good for system performance. Only Windows Vista Ultimate and Business Editions support faxing. For the rest you will have to buy third party faxing software, provided they are Vista-compatible. This is an inconvenience if u have the home basic or home premium editions of Vista.

Windows xp is better than vista and it's very easy to understand why. It runs a lot better according to people I've spoken to and people who have posted their experiences on the net. Security has always been the favorite criticism of Microsoft operating systems in general, but Service Pack 2 greatly improved the safety of xp, with better network protection, memory protection, improved e-mail security and safer browsing. Of course, Microsoft will eventually force the migration to Vista. But for right now, you will get several Vista features, such as Network Access Protection, in the upcoming windows xp service pack 3. Other Vista components available for XP include Media Center, Internet Explorer 7, Media Player 11 and Windows Defender. Windows xp is easy to use and very efficient unlike Vista which make xp the superior operating system.

Even other operating systems like Linux are better than Vista in the opinions of many. Linux takes up less space on your computer than Vista for starters. Linux is not only small, but it's also stable unlike Vista which comes with tons of errors. It is a good operating system to consider if you don't wish to stick with xp or get windows Vista. If Linux doesn't work for you could try the Mac OS X which has all you need in one dynamic package. If you want a simple-to-use computer that can run virtually any application you need on stylish hardware that gives you easy online access and instant connectivity to all types of satellite devices, just go to a store and buy a Macintosh. When it comes to integration, no other operating system can boast the unity of purpose and results that exist on the Mac platform. I believe the elegance and ease of use are a plus which makes the Mac another choice to consider. Along with its famed user interface, one of the keys to the success of Mac OS X is the lack of malware, spyware and self-propagating viruses. A big reason is most viruses and other types of malware are made for windows. Mac has very good security which decreases the chance of getting spyware even further.

In conclusion Windows Vista is not only inferior to Windows xp, but to the Mac OS X and Linux operating systems. Microsoft's decision to end Windows xp will be a big mistake on their part and will allow their competitors to cash in on Microsoft's mistake. Whether it's for home use or for businesses Windows Vista will never be a favorite choice for the people until Microsoft makes some major improvements if they ever do make them. Discontinuing Windows xp should not be done until Windows comes out with something better. In my opinion I would go with the mac or just stick with windows xp. The Mac because of how easy it is to use and the xp because it's been reliable and performs much better than Windows Vista. Microsoft trys so desperately to sell vista and only mentions the good stuff about it on their site but they don't mention all the bad stuff which is just wrong. Lots of people that don't know a lot about computers might buy Windows Vista thinking it's so great because Microsoft makes it seem so, but in reality Microsoft is taking advantage of their poor knowledge of computers which is wrong.
