How to Make Windows XP Look Stylish

A five minute tutorial on how to make Windows XP look beautiful

Windows XP is a great operating system. It's reasonably fast, it's got the basic tools needed to do a variety of tasks and it's not too pricey. One of the downsides is the customizability of the appearance. You're stuck with either the Windows XP blue, silver or olive or there's the ugly alternative of windows classic. This is one of the only reasons for people to upgrade to Vista: It looks way better. But is there a way to make XP look as good as or ever perhaps better than Vista without having to pay large amounts of money or having to run huge programs like Windows Blinds in the background, slowing down your computer? I think I have the answer. By the end of this five minute tutorial I hope you have the knowledge to turn your boring XP into a beautiful, stylish operating system like the picture above.

Getting access to a much larger range of stylish themes is really simple when you know how. To do this, we will be using a free, easy to use and small (9.12 MB) program called XPize. Download it now Here.

Click on alternative mirror 1.

Download the small file.

Run the installation file and click next until you get to the above screen. Make sure that all the boxes are ticked if you want to have access to all the features. Then click next and on the next screen, if you want complete customisability, check the “Add XPize settings to the control panel” box Continue the installation process, install the program, restart your computer and then be amazed. Even without configuring any settings, your PC looks brilliant.

To change the theme to the black like mine or one of the other themes available, go to your desktop, right click, press properties then the appearance tab and change the theme to your desire. For other XPize settings, go to the control panel, click on XPize Settings and change to your liking.

For more themes, you can download third party themes online. Just search around a bit and I'm sure you'll find something you want.

If there's something I've missed or something you want more information on, feel free to comment and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.
