Maybe you have never had a problem with your computer. But mine crashed a couple of days ago and I had to be able to get some of the information off of it without paying someone to do it for me. So I started looking for information on the web to help me in getting my computer up in helping me to get work off of it. This is what I have found that was able to help me. Maybe it will help you as well. When you are booting up your Windows XP press and hold your “F8 Key”. This should bring up the Windows Advanced Options Menu for you. Using your arrow keys to move to “Safe Mode” and then press your Enter Key.
While I was doing this I got a “Stuck key message”. So instead of just holding the F8 key down I tapped it and that worked just fine. If this still has not worked for you, turn your computer off and then bring it up again. Your computer should recognize that your computer did not boot successfully boot and then bring you up into safe mode on its own.
Now you may want to know how to get out of Safe Mode? When you boot/restart your computer the next time it should bring it out of Safe Mode and start Windows XP normally. If this does not happen and it is rebooting back into Safe Mode (it does say "Safe Mode" in each of the corners), it is likely another problem exists with Windows preventing it from loading into Normal Windows.
