There are a few keyboard shortcuts that can make your life a lot easier.
There are lots of these but I am going to list just a few of the most useful ones.
To make this clear, I will write them as follow: CTRL+X - this should be read as holding down the CTRL key and pressing X
- CTRL+P - In most Windows applications this will open the print dialogue box
- CTRL+S This with save the file you are working on
- CTRL+C This will copy a highlighted object, such as a file, a section of highlighted text, to the clipboard
- CTRL+X Will cut a selection and place it on the Clipboard
- CTRL+V Will paste the contents of the clipboard onto your current location
- CTRL+A Selects all objects in a folder or, if in an open file, will select the entire contents
- ALT+F4 Closes the selected application
- CTRL+Home Navigates to the top of a list or the beginning of a file
- CTRL+END Navigates to the bottom of a list or the end of a file
- CTRL+N In many Windows applications will create a new file
- CTRL+O In many Windows applications will open the "open file" dialogue box
- ALT+TAB Will cycle through the open applications. When you get to the application you want release the keys and the required application will be ready for use
