Windows Vista is a Major Disappointment

I was a Windows Vista user at one time but I went back to windows xp for a lot of reasons. I'm not saying that windows vista is a bad operating system at all, I'm going to list some good things about windows vista and some bad things about it.

The good thing about Windows Vista is that it looks really nice with high graphics and special effects. Another good thing is that it has a fast searching bar where you can find what you want right away. It also comes with a lot of security updates and windows media player 11.

The bad thing about Windows Vista is that you can't open or use certain program!!! That's right I said it Windows Vista stops you from using certain programs. The other thing is that it is power hungry, it devours so much damn space on your hard drive and takes a lot of your ram hostage. The requirements are so high it doesn't make any sense. I mean 1 GB of ram, 128mb of video card and that's just a minimum. It takes 15GB of hard drive space to install! The other thing is that it has to ask you permissions to do almost every single task, like if you want to download something or start a game and stuff like that. Usually a person can just click on an item and it starts right up but not for vista. Its makes you feel like a little kid having to ask your parents to go somewhere or to do certain things. The last thing I really hate is that you have to buy a Cd-key right after you Purchase Windows Vista.

But for me this is just my opinion on why I decided to switch back to Windows XP. Other people may have better reasons why to stay with Windows Vista. My thoughts are if Mircosoft is gonna start denying what I can and cannot put on my computer than I will have to try something else.

Thank you Dorian. I have XP and was considering upgrading to VISTA, now I can forget about it. Last Saturday my PC got into a snit. I ran a scan, internet connect was ok but nothing got connected to anything.
I finally found where I could set the beast back to Friday; put it into the frame of mind it had the day before. I did this and restarted it and away it went. Time travel, would you say? Who could ask for anything more than that? Keep it up Dorian! Jonsig

Okay people, XP is a brilliant addition to the windows family, and I'm going to go through your points, explaining why they're all quite biased, and moreso untrue.
You are able to use Vista with simple functions for up to 120 days using a command in CMD without giving it a code.
The UAC (User Account Comtrol) can be completely disabled, and can be disabled for single tasks, like downloading things, and opening system modification programs like SpyBot S&D.
If you don't meet the minimum requirements, you should just let it go, or buy a better computer. A simple standard computer for about a grand can easily meet those requirements, with plenty of disk space and power to spare.

As far as compatibility goes, I've only found ONE program that does not function properly: Macromedia Fireworks. It switches the theme back to Vista Basic while it's open, (no big deal..) and it automatically switches it back once you close Fireworks.

You should really read some manuals and upgrade your PC a bit, then you can join those enjoying Vista the way it is.

Can you use Window+Tab? I think not! Haha.
