Build HTML Pages with Corel Wordperfect

Many people build their Websites with FrontPage and various other Website builders. Not many people use the items they have on hand to build their own Websites. The task doesn't have to be tedious or time consuming.

Anyone who types, has some knowledge of proper grammar, and a touch of HTML skills can build a Website. I converted and uploaded the WordPerfect document in a matter of time.

I have built a few Web pages using Corel WordPerfect . Placing each item I mentioned in the last paragraph has done this. While in some cases with some pages I made some HTML coding changes after I uploaded it to a web-hosting service.

When I adjusted the content in the web-hosting editing area, I only added links to other sites in the original text previously missed. However, this can be done in WordPerfect as well. This all depends on whether all the links were placed at the time of the conversion and uploading of the content to the web-hosting site.

Make sure that the content, graphics, and sound are in an area or areas where they can be found. This will come in handy when the time comes to put it together onto one WordPerfect document page.

Creating the WordPerfect Document

Start by creating the title of the Web page as in any other type of document. Copy and paste or type the content into the document.

Once the content is in place, the graphics can be added in the page where needed. Place the cursor in front of the text where the graphic is to be placed. Click on the Insert tab on the toolbar of WordPerfect. A list to choose from on the Insert and Graphics tab can be found to choose which way the graphic is inserted and follow the directions.

Large graphics will take longer to add to the area selected. If the graphic is too large, copy the picture onto the clipboard. Then go to start, find the paint program, and paste the picture into paint. Resize the picture into a smaller one and save it as a JPEG file. Then delete the original graphic and readd it to the WordPerfect document.

Any sound files will be added in the same manner the graphics were added to the document. Make sure that the audio files work once the files are converted to the HTML page on the desktop of your computer.

Converting the Document to HTML

After the content, graphics, and sound are in place, select file on the taskbar of WordPerfect. Select Publish to and choose HTML. The conversion of the WordPerfect document will be converted into a HTML webpage. The length of the conversion will depend on the size of the graphics, amount of content, and audio file size.

After the conversion is completed, the shortcut to your webpage will be placed on your desktop. Open the converted file and view your webpage. Save the finished document to a folder. This will help when any editing to the page needs to be done.

After the conversion is completed, upload the file to your web-hosting service. If you are unable to upload the file to your webhost, open the file on your desktop, right click, view the source, create a specific page on your web hosting for the webpage, and paste the HTML coding into the page, and save.

You now have just completed your first webpage without the added expense of purchasing a website builder software. Anyone with Microsoft Word should also be able to use the steps in this article to create a website, steps may vary from WordPerfect to Word.
