Drawing a Chart with Microsoft Excel

The chart option available in Microsoft Excel helps you to convert your data into stunning Graphs in some easy steps. If you have got lot of information and wants to show them in a most summarized format, Chart is the only option available for you. A chart wizard is provided with this application that will guide you through the entire process of chart building.

Let us draw a graph using Microsoft excel in easy 3 simple steps.

Step 1

Make some data in two columns. Give appropriate headings to each column. The first column being the X-axis should have data that are to be appeared on the X-axis. The second column is our Y-Axis and should contain figures corresponding to the data available in X- Axis, the first column. Input some meaningful data into these two columns. To try out, fill the first column with names of students and second column with marks each one got in figures.

                                                            

Step 2

Now select both the columns including the header and click on the chart button. A chart wizard appears that let you create chart easily. Select the chart best suitable for your data from the wizard. If you want to draw a bar chart, select that option from the wizard and Click Next button. By now you are able to preview chart before making it complete.

                                                       

Step 3

This is the final step and involves some customization applied to your chart. You can set Title, Name X Axis and Y-Axis etc. during this step. Once you finish with the customization activity, click the finish button and your chart is ready.You can try various other chart options from the wizard. If you double click the chart you created, you can customize it for various other options such as color of the graph, data labels etc.
