Word documents can be greatly enhanced through the use of photos and other graphics. If you are considering adding photos to your Word document, there are a couple of ways to go about adding a photo.
Drag and Drop
The first method of adding photos is the drag and drop method. This means that you would literally drag a photo from one folder and drop it into your Word document.
First, open the folder containing the images that you would like to choose from. Make sure that these are images that you own the copyright to in order to be legal with your photo sharing. The folder might look like this:

Next, click on the photo that you would like to drag to the document. Holding the mouse button down, literally drag the photo into the document and release the mouse button. The photo may appear like this in the document:

Insert an Image
A second method of including a photo in your Word document is to "Insert an Image" or "Insert Photo." Click on the "Insert" tab at the top of the page. From this tab, click, "Picture." A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to select the photo that you would like to insert into the document.
Select the appropriate photo. You may not be able to view the thumbnails of photos in this pop-up window. If you can only see file names for the images, be sure to go back to the original folder and write down the file names of the images that you would like to insert into the document.
Resizing
If you wish to resize a photo that you have placed into a Word document, click on a corner of the photo. Holding the "Shift" key down, drag the corner of the photo to the center of the photo until the photo is the desired size. Release the mouse button and your photo will be the size you wish.
For example, you may wish to have the above image appear smaller, like this:

By holding the "Shift" button while you resize the image, you will be able to maintain the proportions of the image.
To include a caption or text by this image, you can insert a text box into the Word document. Te text box should be found on the "Insert" tab.
Remember: when photo sharing through Word, the file size of your Word document will become large and will take longer to email. Therefore, it's usually a good idea to limit the number of photos that you include in your Word documents.
