MAC Vs. Pc: Which is Best?

Confused about which of the two is better? Do you have no idea on the topic? Well this article will tell you all bout Macs and PCs and which is best! Do you fell like you are on your own and you just can't decide? This article will clear your mind up and tell you which of the two is better. Please fell free to leave a comment and your opinion.

The Look

Well everybody knows Macs are mostly about the look and its true! Just look at the new Mac Book Air it's just so cool! So is the Mac mini, which is so small and cute! But some of you might not know that PCs also have pretty cool designs such as the ACER ASPIRE 8920G. However even if you are a big PC fan you have to admit Macs do look better.

Score so far: MAC 1-0 PC

Gaming

All right now! Calm down PC fans! I know that for many years gaming has stopped people from buying Macs because people wanted to play games and Mac didn't offer them. However now that Boot Camp has been made to Mac OSX Leopard, Mac users can buy windows software and play all the games. But this is using PCs so therefore PCs are without doubt the better of the two as concerns gaming.

Score so far: MAC 1-1 PC

Price

You have to admit the major reason why people buy PCs and not Macs is because of the price of Macs. Macs are a bit overpriced but the Macs are worth it! However, you can buy a PC for only £250 but the lowest priced Mac is around £700 and that's a Mac mini, which is better than the cheapest PC. Anyway for the price I recon PCs are better as the public can easily afford them unlike Macs. Normally, Macs should win this point as they are cheaper in the long run but I gave the point to PC otherwise it would end up 100-0.

Score so far: MAC 1-2 PC

Viruses

Mac OS X is more secure than any other operating system but this is NOT because hackers don't make Mac Viruses as apparently "they reach for the bigger audience". It's because the UNIX family of operating systems were designed from the ground up to be secure. If you get a trojan horse on a Mac, you cannot damage the system simply because the user it is run under does not have the right access to system files. Compare this to Windows, on which the default user is an Administrator. However if you download PC Doc and scan your Mac you will see that there ARE viruses on your Mac but they do not affect the operating system unlike in Windows.

Score so far: MAC 2-2 PC

Stability

Over the five years of using all different types of Macs, I have to admit that my Mac Mini crashed once with a Kernel Panic and my Mac Book Air crashed after several months use. However the tightly controlled Unix-based operating system is way better at tackling these problems than Windows and so can easily be fixed. On Windows if your computer crashes you might as well chuck it in the bin.

Score so far: MAC 3-2 PC

Speed

Now, nobody can even have any objections on which of the two is better in terms of speed. We all know that Macs are up to ten times faster than PCs which HAVE been proven by scientific test so nobody can say anything.

Score so far: MAC 4-2 PC

There are many more reasons to talk about but they would make this article too long. If you would like to know the rest of the reasons just leave a comment.

Why XP Can Beat Vista Any Day

I have no love for Vista. The sight of Aero makes me sick, and the sight of that turning wheel almost drives me to computicide.

Aero drains too much resources for what it is worth...which is just eye candy. No one in their right mind would sacrifice power for eye candy. The economic (or rather the sensible) user wants all the memory and graphics resources dedicated to actual work not making the desktop look pretty.

Vista assumes everyone has a souped up computer which frankly just like Santa Claus is just not true. The irony is that most of the machines being shipped with vista are not configured to vista...they just barely manage to keep the guzzler going. Whilst on the other hand Xp is just the right candidate...low power demand and is the 'green-car' of OS's...it performs well on low RAM even better so on souped up machines

Besides it has been demonstrated again and again that Vista becomes sluggish on the average computer. Microsoft was asked about this...they said Vista was designed for machines of 2GB memory and up. In other words
"Poor people we hate you..."

So the average machine has already been written off by Microsoft...so logically one would think they would encourage us serfs to stick to XP, no they are killing XP in a few months....so much for support.

The most compelling reason to hate vista is that it is half-baked. It does not come with all the necessary drivers for printers, audio and video drivers. It is just too much hassle to get hardware to work on vista that works effortlessly on XP. Microsoft's response....
"You just get vista...vista is the future...we'll fix things as we go along...look we have a service pack less than a year after release..confirming vista WAS half baked...now get in line."

Vista completely ruined the folder hierarchy system that all XP users had gotten so familiar with. The Purpose of an upgrade is to make the user experience easier and better...not harder and inconsistent...Microsoft seems to miss that tit bit of information. I believe what makes a winning OS is consistency...users should be able to do the same operation the same way regardless of what version of the OS they are using...they should NOT need a new manual because they got an upgrade

With XP you don't have to break a sweat to hunt a file or folder down. When a problem occurred you can actually declare ware on the XP system. The folder hierarchy in vista makes that almost impossible and the 'Vista's permission feature' almost guarantees that.

In Vista the folders are all over the place. have new names...virtually unidentifiable...roaming, appdata, history and the sea of dead links do not make anything easier. What is the purpose of the dead links by the way. It completely eludes me.

What was so wrong about XP's files hierarchy? If XP was working so well, which I and +70% windows users assert, why did they not just improve XP and not chuck it out of the window like a puppy with rabies only to grapple with something untested and frankly not so user friendly

The UIA and search indexing is one of the most annoying features on vista. Who ever designed that...you weren't doing any user any favours buddie...it is like being stopped by the police every 100 feet on the highway. Almost every folder operation requires permission or some kind of verification...its not helpful...its annoying. Who told Microsoft users want that anyway?

For an OS that users buy it sure does little to listen to the users or consider what the user wants...fat and hassle free computing . I realised you need permission to delete certain files. Hell, I paid for the computer...I should have access to ALL my files from the get go. I shouldn't even loose a minute tweaking anything. This should be a given as long as you are the administrator and not a standard user.

What is with the new sidebar...horrendous. The folder display makes me ill. XP had the sidebar display just perfect. It had the things you actually needed on it...and the switch from folder to features is completely gone in Vista.

Vista is far from turning my fancy...its not ready...it is too heavy on the system with very little to show in as far as improved performance...and considering the time spent trying to solve its myriad of glitches and problems it certainly has not made a positive user experience and certainly decreased actual work efficiency

Talk about counter productivity.

Apple vs. PC

For the past couple of years Mac and Pc have been at war. These two multibillion air companies have been making computers for the last couple years. The debate is which one is better. I honestly could not agree on that without human explanations. Now lets be honest Mac, overall is better. The performance is amazing. The speed that it turns on, the size of the computer and all the rest of amazing things that this machine provides. Pc serves for one thing, for all those gamers out there this computer is the ideal thing to use, Mac does not have a vast choice to choose from. The games that are out are either old or sixty dollars. That honestly is extremely expensive. That is one of the flaws of Mac. Mac has become a favorite to the average American. Not only Americans, but people all over the world are attempting to purchase these machines for a low price, considering that Mac has the most stores in the United States.

Now, I really am not sure where else there stores are located around the world, but I am sure that Mac's are put together in California. The other flaw that Mac has is that the price you could say is a little expensive. The high quality Mac's can range up to a price of three thousand dollars. The plus sides of Mac's are that it is a great graphic designing computer ready to take on the challenge of art projects, videos, pictures, school assignments and it is a great organizer. I myself am a big fan of Mac considering that I have three of them, they have never to this point shut down or have had viruses. Now to Pc, I have honestly had them in my past and nothing has come close to Mac. Now I do miss something about Pc except for viruses, random shut downs, lags, over heating, freezing up, harmful websites that could potentially ruin your whole computer, and continues program updaters that lag your computer every time you turn it on, I really miss the games.

One thing and I highlight “one thing”, that pc has that Mac doesn't is games. People around the world use Pc's because their main concern is games, now I am not saying that it is a bad thing, but to get the quality of a Mac first off you need a really really big computer that is three feet tall and a foot wide. I personally do not like things that take up a tremendous amount of room. I figure that is the concern of many people. Is the Pc too big will it fit, where will we put the monitor and what about the computer, oh and don't forget the speakers. All together at the end you spend so much money that you would have been better of spending one thousand two hundred dollars on a I Mac that comes with all those thing in one. Not to mention that with this simple device it drags behind it one cable which goes to the plug.

I have given many of my personal thoughts that where also facts. Something that is a slap in the face that yells Mac is better, is that all the other performance items that Mac has been offering for the past couple of years, from the iPod to the computer, Pc has not been able to conduct anything better than those standards. All it has thought about is windows Vista and to be honest I think that everyone clearly sees that they copied Mac. Mac will soon realize that with the help of video games they will be one step closer from becoming the most convenient computer out on the market. This will give Pc fans one less reason why not to buy a Mac. Overall Mac has shown its true powers.
