Disc Problems

One of the most annoying thing that can happen to me is buying an expensive CD or DVD, and not being able to use it anymore because it got scratched so badly! Well here's a helpful hint on how to remove scratches from most CDs or DVDs.

Ingredients Needed: Airtight Container, Diet Soda, Baking Soda, Toothpaste, Creamy Peanut Butter (chunky will scratch it even more!), and paper towels.

Step 1: Add toothpaste to your CD or DVD.

Step 2: Then apply peanut butter right on top of the toothpaste.

Step 3: After about 2 minutes, gently remove the toothpaste and peanut butter with a paper towel.

Step 4: Do steps 1 and 2 again by reapplying toothpaste, then reapplying the peanut butter.

Step 5: Put the disc inside of the container and pour the diet soda in it then mix some baking soda into the mix and seal the lid.

Step 6: After about 5 minutes, remove the disc and clean it with the paper towels.

Step 7: Pop the disc back into its player, and enjoy!

I hope you all enjoy this tip on how to clean your disc!

Improve PC Performance

Let's face it, none of us are perfect.

I'm sure most of us in some way shape or form have unwanted material stored onto our computers automatically after being viewed on the internet, which are still, viewable by anyone. But don't take this article as ONLY an effective way to remove these files, it's also an effective way of freeing up space on your hard disk altogether, improving the overall performance of your computer!

Here are simple instructions for viewing and or deleting these files.

Click Start button

Click Control Panel

Click on “Performance and Maintenance”

Under “Pick a task” you should see a link that says “Free up space on your hard disk”. Click this.

A “Disk Cleanup” window should pop up, and begin calculating your stored files.

(This process will likely take a few minutes)

When the calculation process is complete, and new window should pop up, named something along the lines of “Disk Cleanup for [your computer name here] (C:)”.

If you search across it, you will come across the words “Files to delete:”.

Click highlight the “Temporary Internet Files” selection, go down to the lower part of the window, and click the “View Files” button.

A new window named “Content” should come up, with files with random lettering on them; you may open these files, and few everything you've come across on the internet so far.

Once you are ready to delete these files, go back to the “Disk Cleanup” window, make sure there's a check mark in the box next to “Temporary Internet Files”, and click the “OK” button at the bottom of the window.

A box should come up asking if you are sure you want to perform these actions. Click Yes.

And there you have it! Your first method of removing unwanted files from your computer!

A second, alternative method is downloading, and using
“Media Detective”.
They offer a free 1 month trial, so you could just use it and lose it if you wish.

Good luck to you and your new clean computers!

Pop ups why their annoying and how to counter them

Pop ups can be found on most sites you use on the internet, they pop up on your screen tell you something and you click them away, simple enough. However some pop ups can be rather annoying they pop up, you close them off they take you to a website, you close that off and once again the pop up returns, I open up task manager and close the pop up off and internet explorer.

Another reason they get under my skin is when you’re typing something and one appears it takes the focus of your message and what ever you type after it appears is lost and you have to retype it all, this is just stress full!

Most websites that feature game hints and tips no doubt have a porn pop up, this is something you don’t want to be seeing unless you actually went looking for it, and the porn pop ups will take you to a site when you close them down, then on your history you have a porn site, your partner thinks the worse and then a fight begins well done pop up!

How to fight these bastards, well simple firstly don’t use internet explorer it’s out of date and has the worse security in the world! Upgrade to firefox it has less chance of pop ups and it’s easily the safest way to explore the internet.

If you use internet explorer still or upgrade to firefox download googles pop up blocker it is one of the best you can get, it allows you to stop like 95% of all pop ups and most of all it allows you to do google searches in it, very nice.

You can buy software to counter pop ups, this is an extreme but if they annoy you as much as me feel free to buy one and say bye bye to pop ups for good!
