Window's is Stealing 20% of Your Bandwith

Your trusted windows OS for your PC is stealing 20% of your net connection!

All that for just updates! Here's how to get it back.

The first thing you have to do is go to the start menu. Then use

"RUN" and type in gpedit.msc. On the left side of gpedit you will

see computer configurations. And under it you'll see Administrative

Templet's, click it. Now under that there should be more folders. Click

on the Network one. Now click the Quos folder.

In the main part of the window on the right look for the option

"Limit reservable bandwidth". Turn the feature on. By clicking the

properties box you will now enable this and change the amount from

20% to 0% or if you want to be able to reserve a little bandwidth for

the updates set it to 2 or 5%. Even if it says its not enabled it is.

Restart your computer and the change should take effect.

If you don't believe this run a speed test on you internet. When I

first did this it was at 4000KB/s which shocked me that really slow

for cable modems. After I put the reserved bandwidth to 0% i was able

to get it to a shocking 14000KB/s but its usually about 10000 which is

still good. Anyway hope you do it right and your system should be running the way it was meant to be.

How to Convert DivX Files to MPEG

I know there are a few converters online and if they work for you fine. But this article is for the people like me who couldn't get those converters to work properly for one reason or another.

Getting Started

The only tool you really need is PSP video 9. Even though it was meant to convert video files to the PSP it works well in converting the DivX files to MPEG. So after you have the video you want saved open up video 9. Select the video you want to convert. Make sure mpeg or another format you want is selected and convert.

That's all it really takes. Nothing to complicated i hope. Now it should be even easier for you to convert your videos to another format if you want instead of having to look for a special DivX converter. I hope I was helpful to those of you that were having problems.

How to Hide Files in a .jpg Image File

Here's how its done. First all you need is 7-zip and command prompt. Once you have the files you want to hide and the image file open 7-zip. Locate the files you want to hide and add them to a .7z file. Make sure these are selected:

Archive format:7z

Compression level: Ultra

Compression Method:LZMA

Dictionary size: 64MB

Word Size:64.

Once done you can delete those files you were trying to hide because they are now in the .7z file you just made. Open command prompt by going to start run and put in cmd. to make it easier make a folder on your desktop and put the .7z file and the .jpg file in the folder so its all in one place.

Lets call the folder its in x123 the .7z file shadow.7z and the .jpg return.jpg. So now in command prompt it should say c:/ documents and settings> "your pc's name">. Now next to that put cd x123 so it opens the folder it should now be c:/ documents and settings>"Your pc's name">x123>. After that put in COPY /B return.jpg + shadow.7z returnsecret.jpg after this it should say 1 file copied and there should be a new .jpg file in your x123 folder called returnsecret.jpg.

To get the files off of the new image file lets say you had passwords there and you need to get them back open 7-zip again and select returnsecret.jpg now press the extract button. There should now be a folder called returnsecret with the files you just hide inside the image. You can delete this folder and extract it again from the image over and over. Hide it in a thumbdrive, psp, external drive, iPod, or any mass media and only you will know that the files are there or even how to extract them.

How to Make a Graphic Stone Effect in Gimp

Let's get started.

So the first thing you need is to open your picture you want to edit in
Gimp.

Erase everything except the image you want to keep.

Copy the image into another layer so that if you mess up you can always go back to the original image.

Go to colors>desaturate. This will turn the image gray and be the start of turning your picture to stone.

Cover the eyes. Use the free select tool and circle the eyes.

Use the color gradient tool and try try to get the eyes to match the grays of your image so it blends. Do one eye at a time because you have to do step 6 for the same selections on the eyes.

With the eyes still selected go to colors>Brightness-contrast until the color matches the image.

Make the hair and any dark area's lighter.

Find a texture like a stone image or something rocky that you think would look right. Place it in a new layer over your image your working on.

Select the image your working on select it then click on the texture layer and it should have the outline of what you did in the other layer press delete so all the extra that isn't needed from the layer is gone. There should be a rock layer that has the same outline as your image.

Go to images>hue-saturation and for hue put -143 saturation -80 lightness 0. Make sure the numbers are in the correct places.

11. In layers select the rock texture layer and for mode: pick multiply. Its starting to look pretty cool now but its not quite done yet .

Go to colors>levels black should be 0 gray 1.00 white 210. Output levels for black is 0 and white is 255.

Repeat step 12 but this time black is 0 gray is still 1.00 white is now 206. Output remains the same. There you go it should now look like a statue.

Save the image as a .png so you have a transparent background which you should have had the whole tutorial. If not before you save get rid of all the white in your image.

Now that you have your image all saved and done you can add other effect's to it or place it in a background image. Or both. Have fun!
